Dr. Douglas Broderius

Veterinarian/Owner

Dr. Douglas Broderius has come to us from the Grand Canyon State. He is a native of Phoenix, Arizona and spent his childhood not knowing temperatures less then 40F (much more accustomed to 115F). This Arizona youth graduated from Cortez High School in Phoenix and earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Arizona in Tuscon (Go Widcats!). Temperature and snow played a much bigger factor in Fort Collins, Colorado where the young Dr. Broderius spent the early 1980's attending veterinary school. Upon graduation from Colorado State University in 1986, he returned to the Phoenix area to practice at Kaibab Animal Hospital for several years. The young veterinarian got the itch for something new shortly thereafter and found himself traveling cross country in the fall of 1988 to the great unknown of Kansas City. It is here that Dr. Broderius has spent the last 25 years following many career adventures including the beginning of the Animal Care Clinic in the winter of 1998-99. That is where you will find him today.

Kansas is where Dr. Douglas Broderius calls home now. He is marrried to Diana, his wife of twenty-five years. They share their home with six ShihTzus (Harry, Sally, Herbie, Alvin, Clarice, and Mary Lou), their Miniature Dachshund (Joseph), and two cats (Simon and Theodore). When Dr. Broderius is not taking care of dogs and cats, he enjoys working outdoors in the yard and cycling. A relaxing vacation for the Broderius' is snuggling in at a Bed and Breakfast, many times with the dogs in tow.
